Data and Models to Build Supply Blocks for Deploying Marine Corps Units

Abstract

We describe a methodology for developing repair parts inventories for deploying Marine Corps units, including data collection and sparing models. Deployed units provide an excellent opportunity to make local corrections to systematic data collection and maintenance problems. We show how to use that data to establish spares levels for Class IX repair parts with an availability-based sparing model.
