Thermography for the Characterization of Corrosion Damage

Abstract

Thermography is a viable NDE technique for the characterization of corrosion in metallic materials. Thermography is a rapid, noncontact, wide area inspection technique that is easy to interpret and that is not significantly sensitive to material curvature. We have developed a portable system and have characterized the sensitivity of the technique. Results will be presented in this paper.
