Abstract

The 1990s were a decade where space power came of age, both economically and militarily. Commercial space revenues exceeded U.S. government spending for the first time,making space power a vital contributor to U.S. economic power. As for the military space, Desert Storm demonstrated the true value of space assets for enhancing combat capabilities of terrestrial forces.
