Liaison With Religious PVOs

Abstract

The Joint Task Force Commander will neither command nor control non-governmental organizations NGOs and private volunteer organizations PVOs during humanitarian assistance operations HAOs. While the civil-military operations center CMOC is assigned the task of liaison with relief organizations, the present composition of the CMOC lacks the resident capability to communicate and coordinate with religious PVOs. The Chaplain Corps and the JTF Chaplain, leveraging the technology of network centric communication, represent the most viable means of facilitating communication and coordination between the Joint Task Force Commander and religious PVOs.
