Lower St. Johns River and Estuary, Florida, Numerical Model Study

Abstract

The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) developed a multidimensional hydrodynamic and salinity model of the Lower St. Johns River and Estuary (LSJRE) Florida. The developed model was intended as a general planning tool to gain insight into the hydrodynamics and transport mechanisms of the system. Model results were verified against prototype hydrodynamic and salinity data. The model satisfactorily reproduces tidal elevations, discharges. and salinity trends.
