Abstract

The second International Conference on Intelligent Processing and Manufacturing of Materials was held in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 10 - 15, 1999. IPMM'99 is the second in a series of conferences dealing with the application of Artificial Intelligence and related technologies such as expert systems, fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms, pattern recognition and hybrid systems to the processing and manufacturing of materials and products. The theme of this year's conference is "Intelligence in Materials Production - The Competitive Edge!"
