Abstract

This is the final report for the Joint Services Electronic Program. This work covers the work on five research topics including, (1) High Speed (THz) Nonlinear Optical Effects in Semiconductor Amplifiers-New Effects and Devices (2) Transient Dynamics of Cavity Formation in Laser Diodes (3) New Nonlinear Materials for Optical Frequency Conversion (4) Integration of Diffractive Optics with Smart Pixels for Optical Communications, Networking and Computing (5) Ultra-High Capacity This Optical Switching Using a Nonlinear Optical Loop Mirror with Time and Wavelength Selectivity.
