On the Interpretation of Combined Torsion and Tension Tests of Thin-Wall Tubes

Abstract

General ways of testing thin-wal1 tubes under combined tension and torsion as a means of checking the various theories of elasticity are discussed. Suggestions also are given for the interpretation of the tests.
