DARPA National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program

Abstract

The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship Program offers three-year fellowships as a means of increasing the number of U.S. citizens trained in science and engineering disciplines of military importance. Sponsored by the Army, Navy, Air Force and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), these fellowships are offered individuals who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude for advanced training in science and engineering. NDSEG Fellowships are awarded for study and research leading to doctoral degrees in mathematics, physical, biological, ocean and engineering sciences. This grant supported students sponsored by DARPA for 14 appointments beginning in academic year 1993/1994 and 17 appointments beginning in academic year 1994/1995. This report contains information on these students as well as NDSEG students supported beginning in academic year 1989 through the final class of students who started in academic year 1994/1995.
