Focused Corrective Measures Study for Groundwater at Site SS-45. Volume I. England Air Force Base, Alexandria, Louisiana

Abstract

This report was prepared by Parsons Engineering Science, Inc. (Parsons ES) to present the results of a focused Corrective Measures Study (CMS), including an assessment of the potential for remediation by natural attenuation (RNA) of groundwater contaminated with chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbons (CAHs) (in essence, an RNA treatability study RNA TS), for Site SS-45 at the former England Air Force Base (AFB), Alexandria, Louisiana. As used in this report, RNA refers to a management strategy that relies on the evaluation and application of natural attenuation mechanisms, within the context of a carefully controlled and monitored site cleanup approach, that will reduce contaminant mass and/or concentrations to levels that are protective of human health and the environment, within a reasonable time frame.
