Commercial Contract for Total Logistics Support of Aircraft Auxiliary Power Units

Abstract

The primary audit objective was to determine whether the cost savings, availability, and reliability data used in the business case analysis prepared by the Navy supported the decision to award a commercial contract to Honeywell for total logistics support of aircraft auxiliary power units. The audit also reviewed the cost savings and benefits from reduced maintenance times, longer mean time between failures, and the impact from technology refreshment.
