Application of Control Theory and Design to Atomic Scale Problems

Abstract

The research program investigated two aspects of interactions between control theory and atomic scale sensing and modification of materials. One research focus was on a class of nanoscale sensors and actuators that are based on a microcantilever mechanism. The other direction was concerned with laser molecular control.
