Active Materials For Lasing In The 4-5 Micron Spectral Range

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking General Physics Institute of the RAS. as follows: The contractor will investigate new laser host materials having a "short" phonon spectrum and doped with rare earths to achieve efficient, near-room-temperature operation of solid state lasers operating in the 4-5 micron spectral range.
