Abstract

This document provides a general overview of cross-platform development using the C++ programming language, including motivating factors, the problems involved, and simple solutions to the most common pitfalls. This document will also compare and contrast some of the most common commercial and freeware development tool kits which are advertised as cross-platform solutions and discuss how to fill in the elements these tool kits don't provide.
