A Generic Preference System Pattern and C++ Implementation

Abstract

Most applications require that users can customize features, This report presents a preference design pattern that solves that requirement. The design pattern provides two main features: generic GUI editing and serialization. The report also defines possible C++ implementation issues and proposes possible solutions. The Appendix contains a partial code listing for a C++ implementation of the design pattern.
