Development of the Aerodynamic/Aeroservoelastic Modules in Astros Volume 4: Aeroservoelasticity Discipline in Astros, Theoretical Manual

Abstract

This report presents the theoretical formulation of the aeroservoelastic module in ASTROS. Areas covered include the following: generalized matrices, rational aerodynamic approximations, state-space aeroservoelastic equations, flutter analysis, control stability margins and continuous gust response. This report is part of the documentation which describe the complete development of an STTR Phase II effort entitled "Development of the Aerodynamic/Aeroservoelastic Modules in ASTROS". Additional aeroservoelasticity (ASE) reports are the User's Manual, the Programmer's Manual, and the Application Manual.
