A Summary Report of The 2nd Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring, Held at Stanford University on September 8-10, 1999

Abstract

The 2nd International Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring was held at Stanford University, September 8-10, 1999, with about 230 participants. Major topics in the technical presentations and panel discussions were sensor development, damage characterization, diagnostic methods, and applications. All the technical presentations of the Workshop were published in the proceedings of the Workshop; Structural Health Monitoring 2000," (Technomic Publishing Company). This report summarizes results of the panel discussions, organized in three sequential sessions: Space and DoD Applications, Civil Infrastructures Applications, and Where To Go From Here?. Transcripts of Panel Discussions are presented in the report. The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) The Army Research Office (ARO), the Federal Highway Research Administration (FHWA), and the National Science Foundation (NSF) provided funding for the Workshop.
