The Bounding of Instabilities of the PIC Difference Equations

Abstract

A study is niade of the effect of a nonlinearity on the stability properties of a simplified version of the PIC difference equations. An equilbrium amplitude of the fluctuations, resulting from the instability, is determined as a function of the parameters of the method.
