Interim Report for Bioventing Field Initiative at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia

Abstract

This report describes the activities conducted at three sites at Robins Air Force Base (AFB), Georgia, as part of the Bioventing Field initiative for the U.S. Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE). This report summarizes the results from the first phase of the study, which includes a soil gas survey, air permeability test, in situ respiration tests, and installation of bioventing systems. The specific objectives of this task are described in the following section. The purpose of these field test methods is to measure the soil gas permeability and microbial activity at three contaminated sites and to evaluate the potential application of the bioventing technology to remediate the sites.
