Logistics Technology 2010. Implications for DoD

Abstract

A main objective of the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics Architecture) (ADUSDLA) is to design and coordinate the implementation of a logistics architecture that inherently meets Joint Vision 2010 requirements. This report assesses the impact of new and emerging technologies on the future architecture of DoD logistics. The report discusses the current status of logistics technology in supply, maintenance and transportation and assesses the technology implications of key logistics documents in DoD. It provides a DoD-wide view of logistics initiatives and provides a gap analysis between them and the University of Maryland's 2010 technology forecast. It discusses the degree of alignment between the technology implications of key logistics documents and the results of the gap analysis.
