Analytical Investigations on Detonation Theory and Mechanical Ignition of Explosive

Abstract

The research carried out under this grant was on 1) the analytical theory of detonation stability and 2) the development of new models for description of the mechanical ignition of condensed explosives. The research directly and indirectly supported a separate effort at UIUC on the engineering design of explosive systems, specifically condensed phase explosives and the use of related numerical technologies.
