Research Highlights. Air Force Office of Scientific Research Logs Three Nobel Laureates for 2000 Awards

Abstract

The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) identified, sponsored, and rated with other agencies to support over 35 Nobel Laureates before they won the Nobel Prize. On 10 December 2000, three additional AFOSR-funded researchers were awarded the Nobel Prize at the Stockholm Concert Hall in Sweden. This select group has earned worldwide recognition for their research contributions in physics, chemistry and medicine. This is the second consecutive year that AFOSR's support, among with several other sources of funding, has helped a researcher to receive a Nobel Prize for work in Chemistry.
