Foraging Behavior of Fishes in Aquatic Plants

Abstract

Foraging behavior of juvenile bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) and largemouth bass (Micropterus saitnoides) was observed in aquatic plants using underwater videography. This note describes relationships between plant stem density and foraging of fish, and discusses application of these data to evaluate the habitat value of aquatic plant beds.
