JSF Manufacturing Demonstration Program

Abstract

Acting through the Air force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB, the JSF Program Office selected a team led by Raytheon Systems company to refine and demonstrate a powerful set of lean practices and tools as part of the JSF Manufacturing Demonstration (JMD) program. the Raytheon JMD team of Raytheon systems Company (RSC, formerly Hughes aircraft Company), Boeing Aerospace (BA, formerly McDonnell Douglas Aerospace), Management Support Technology Corporation (MST), Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), and Arizona State University (ASU) developed, refined and demonstrated lean practices and processes and an integrated design/cost database and tools that can aid the JSF community in significantly reducing JSF life cycle cost.
