System and Database Review for Deployed Environmental Surveillance System (DESS)

Abstract

This report identifies and evaluates databases which are potentially applicable to the development of Deployed Environmental Surveillance System (DESS). The goal of DESS is the tracking of individual exposures of all deployed U.S. personnel. The report will assist in providing a proof-of-concept demonstration of available technologies that will prove the worth of a system assembled to identify CBRN hazards, warn first echelon forces, and transmit exposure data to qualified consultants in real time for evaluation, technical assistance, and personnel exposure tracking.
