FY 2000 End of Year Report: Volume 2. Joint Advanced Warfighting Program

Abstract

The second volume of this three-volume report discusses the JAWP's participation in Millennium Challenge 00 (Appendix D), and the JAWP development of an operational concept and implementation plan for a Joint Strike Force (JSF) during FY2OOO (Appendices E and F, respectively). The JSF is a rapidly deployable joint combat force capable of achieving national security objectives in small-scale contingencies. Described are the motivation for developing a JSF, the perceived short-falls in existing capabilities, an overview of the methodology employed by the JSF Concept Development Team in developing the concept, and like concept itself and its implementation. The first volume documents the JAWP efforts in Joint Experiment J9901: Attack Operations Against Critical Mobile Targets. The third volume is a collection of topics that range from interoperability between Services to historical looks at experimentation and warfighting on urban terrain.
