Proceedings of a Workshop on Policy and Procedures for Water Management, Allocation, and Conflicting Use Resolution

Abstract

The Corps Hydraulics and Hydrology Branch, HQUSACE, sponsored a workshop entitled, 'Policy and Procedures for Water Management, Allocation, and Conflicting Use Resolution', on 30 January - 1 February 1996, in Santa Barbara, California. The Hydrologic Engineering Center hosted the workshop and was responsible for the technical program and workshop. The workshop consisted of five half day sessions. There were twenty invited participants who presented a total of 17 papers and three panel discussions. Participants included representatives from the Corps headquarters, division and district offices, HEC, and the Institute for Water Resources (IWR). Other participants included representatives of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado River Authority, and two private consultants. The primary objective of the workshop was to present papers and hold discussions on policy and procedures related to water manage conflicting use resolution that will help focus research programs in watershed studies, water use conflicts, and water management into the next century. These proceedings include a compilation of the papers and panel presentations presented at the workshop.
