INFORMATION SYSTEMS: VA Computer Control Weaknesses Increase Risk of Fraud, Misuse, and Improper Disclosure

Abstract

This report discusses weaknesses that we identified during our assessment of general computer controls that support key financial management and benefit delivery operations of the department of Veterans Affairs. General computer controls affect the overall effectiveness and security of computer operations as opposed to being unique to any specific computer application.
