Field Experimentation Design for Multi-Threaded Analysis

Abstract

This report describes an experimental design approach based upon the approach used for the Rapid Force Project Initiative (RFPI) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) series of experiments. This experimental series was required to accomplish concurrent analytical, operational, and demonstration goals derived from program issues, user requirements, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) mandates, and performance exit criteria. Events were defined to collect data elements allocatd from flow-down of issues into criteria, measures of effectiveness and performance, and data requirements. This report discusses the OSD definition of military utility, the decomposition and allocation of requirements, the responsibilities of organizations, and the Verification, Validation, and Accrediation (VV&A) of models, simulations, and data.
