Nanoscale Devices and Novel Engineered Materials

Abstract

A variety of new processes and materials for nanoscale magnetic devices has been developed under this 5-year program, with application to non-volatile magnetic memories and GMR/spin-valve heads. The demonstration of ultra-high density patterning techniques and magnetic dot arrays were highlights of the program.
