Evaluation of Envirostrip for Depainting Thin-Skinned Aluminum Alloys

Abstract

An Envirostrip(Trademark) wheat starch process was evaluated versus Type V and Polymedia Lite(Trademark) plastic media paint removal processes on 0.32-inch aluminum substrates. While some small and statistically significant differences were seen in the mechanical properties of the substrates receiving the three treatments, they were judged to be within the variations expected within the procedures, and not judged to be of engineering significance.
