Nurturing ECSU Research Talent (N.E.R.T.)

Abstract

This program, entitled "Nurturing ECSU Research Talent" focuses on undergraduate education and undergraduate research experiences. Nurturing these young researchers is a primary concern. Highest priority is given to providing them with the guidance and skills to insure their entrance and success in graduate school. Further, each student learns the fundamentals of scientific research, in a team setting, under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Contained in this report are the following: 1) Executive summary of program activities, 2) GRE/GPA Data, 3) Summer 2OOO internship abstracts, 4) Summer 2001 internship placements, 5) Academic Year 2OOO-2OO1 research team final reports, 6) Graduate success report, and 7) Visiting Lecture.
