Space Storms and Space Weather Hazards

Abstract

The Tutorial Lectures of the NATO Advanced Study Institute on Space Storms and Space Weather Hazards, 19 June 2000 - 29 June 2000, Hersonissos, Crete The aims of the Institute were: to provide a systematic overview and rigorous introduction to the physics of space storms; to review recent spacecraft measurements that have provided new insight into the dynamics and effects of space storms; to review space weather hazards associated with space storms and pertinent to the operation of technological systems in space and on ground; to discuss and assess methods of space weather forecasting, as well as national and international initiatives towards an efficient development of space climatology.
