Testing and Analysis of Complex Structures to Improve CalcuRep

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking Delft University of Technology as follows: The contractor shall investigate the performance of bonded composite repairs to complex metal aircraft structures in comparison with analytical predictions in order to verify new analytical models. Specifically, the contractor shall compare the performance of bonded composite repairs to cracked wide stiffened wing panels with unstiffened panels. Experimental results will also be compared with new analytical model predictions. The contractor's experimental data will aid the USAF Academy Center for Aircraft Structural Life Extension (CAStLE) in developing a more powerful version of the bonded repair program CalcuRep.
