Metal Pallet, Standard Size 44" x 40", with Modified PA-XXX Bottom Adapter, MIL-STD-1660 Tests

Abstract

The U.S. Army Defense Ammunition Center (DAC), Validation Engineering Division (SMAAC-DEV), was tasked by U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armament Command-U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC) to conduct testing IAW MIL-STD-16601 Design Criteria for Ammunition Unit Loads' on the Metal Pallet, standard size 44" x 40", with modified PA-XXX bottom adapter. No significant flaws were found in the pallet units. As a result of the performance of Pallet Unit 1 and Pallet Unit 2 during testing, the Metal Pallet, standard size 44' x 40", with modified PA-XXX bottom adapter, Is recommended for U.S. Army-wide use.
