This proceedings contains 75 unclassified papers presented at the First Joint Conference on Point Detection for Chemical and Biological Defense (1JCPD), held at the Williamsburg Hospitality House, Williamsburg, Virginia, 23 - 27 Oct 2000. The Conference was organized by the Joint Science and Technology Panel on Chemical and Biological Defense (JSTPCBD) in cooperation with the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, and other CB Agencies. Mr. Kirkman Phelps, U.S. Army SBCCOM, was the Conference Chair. Keynote addresses were given by Dr. Anna Johnson-Winegar, Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense (CBD), and COL(P) Patricia Nilo, Commandant, U.S. Army Chemical School.
