Standard, Mixed & Non-Conforming HP Finite Elements for Problems in Mechanics

Abstract

Numerical analysis of a linearized formulation for three-dimensional buckling and stress-stiffening phenomena showed that an algorithm implemented in the commercial finite element code STRESS CHECK is robust. An hp method was formulated and implemented for computing the response of woven composite (3) Domain decomposition/concatenation hp methods were analyzed. Locking-free robust hp mixed methods for elasticity were developed.
