Former Presidents: Office and Security Costs and Other Information

Abstract

This report responds to your request of March 20, 2001, that we update and expand on the work we reported on in 1988, concerning costs borne by the federal government associated with former presidents and their dependents. 1 In addition to updating the information contained in that report, you also asked for additional information concerning the offices of former presidents.
