MEREOS

Abstract

The MEREOS program is a manufacturing technology program of the United States Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, Manufacturing Technology Division (AFRL/MLM) funded under contract F33615-95-C-5519. The two program objectives were first, to identify the root causes of the problem of multiple BOM reconciliation and define the requirements for a solution, and second, to prove, via demonstration, the feasibility of developing a system to implement that solution. The key information system and enterprise process capabilities required to solve this and other related product representation problems were identified as a result of an extensive and formal needs and requirements analysis. Software demonstrating solution feasibility was also developed. Elements of a new aerospace and defense operating system for implementing these enterprise process capabilities were designed.
