Acquisition of the Naval Control System

Abstract

The primary audit objective was to evaluate the overall management of the Naval Fires Control System (NFCS). Because the program was in the engineering and manufacturing development phase, we determined whether management was cost-effectively readying the program for the production phase of the acquisition process. We also evaluated the management control program as it related to the audit objective.
