2ICR Regimental Artillery and Aviation Evaluation

Abstract

The 2ICR Regimental Artillery and Aviation Evaluation is an analytical evaluation using the Janus modeling software at Fort Knox, KY. The tested alternative structures consist of six 155 mm towed howitzers combat versus twelve 120 mm turreted mortars and four troops of OH58D helicopters, versus three troops of OH58 helicopters and one troop of AH64 attack helicopters. This evaluation focused on the performance of one squadron of the 2nd ICR performing a zone reconnaissance in a non linear eastern European environment in the 2004 time frame. The force effectiveness of the squadron was evaluated in terms of the contribution of the alternative regimental support assets.
