A Study of Strategic Performance in OASA(FM&C)

Abstract

As the federal government continues to improve its financial accountability to the taxpayers, the Department of Defense (DoD) is also trying to increase its efficiency. Within DoD, the Department of the Army and specifically, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management & Comptroller OASA(FM&C) are critical participants in this search for better business practices and enhanced control over the planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES), which is the Army's process for obtaining the funds required to complete its mission. The ASA(FM&C), wants to improve the performance of its organization in managing the Army's budget.
