Micro-Optics Research and Engineering (MORE) Laboratory

Abstract

The goal of this project was to establish a state-of-the-art Micro Optics Research & Engineering (MORE) Laboratory. As of February 1, 2002, we have acquired, installed and calibrated all computer systems (hardware and software), DAQ interface instruments, and photolithography equipment The equipment and software obtained through this grant is housed in the Physics building (Dansby Hall, Room III) on the campus of Morehouse College. The computational and design software (MatLab, Freehand, LabVIEW, Mathematica, MATCAD, and AUTOCAD) were acquired with a one-year warranty while the photolithography equipment (Spin coater system, safety eye wash, Tencor Profileometer, micropositioners and motion controller systems) were acquired with a multi-year warranty. As indicated in the approved No-Cost Extension letter dated May 29, 2001, travel expenses were necessary to perform inspection and receive calibration training. An 'Open House Tour' of the MORE Laboratory was held on Wednesday, April 10, 2002.
