Abstract

This revised publication updates policies concerning animal disease prevention and control, establishes the extent of veterinary care for Government-owned and privately-owned animals, incorporates fiscal guidance, establishes guidance on the veterinary role in the human-animal bond, prescribes new and revised forms used to record animal medical information and allows for the use of computers to generate prescribed Department of Defense forms. This revision reaffirms the role of the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps as the Executive Agent for the Department of Defense Veterinary Services as authorized by DoD Directive 6015.5.
