Abstract

This Strategy Research Project will review current efforts under way which are designed to respond to Peace Operations on the African continent. In a broad context, it will look at African, European, and American responses to peacekeeping and crisis intervention, while in a narrower vein, it will review the African Crisis Response Initiative and current African Peacekeeping initiatives. The overall intent is to analyze current initiatives - not only in regard to bilateral relationships, but also within a regional and sub-regional context. It will conclude by offering discrete and focused recommendations for future operations in Africa
