Transportation and Travel: Traffic Management Regulations. Supplement 1

Abstract

(1) Establish and apply such traffic management procedures as required to ensure effective and economic use of military and commercial transportation. Particular emphasis will be placed on those phases of logistics and supply management which affect storage, procurement, distribution operations, maintenance, contractual services, regulatory requirements, industrial mobilization plans, retrograde movement and determination of distribution mission areas. (2) Conduct continuous studies and analyses of traffic management aspects involved in supply management actions. Ensure that such studies and analyses are on the basis most advantageous to the Government, full consideration will be given to economic potentialities. (3) Ensure that applicable traffic management provisions are incorporated into procedures, practices, contract clauses and terms, shipping schedules, stock positioning and installation missions. (4) Require, to the extent practicable, traffic management personnel to furnish advice, assistance, or information, and bring to the attention of responsible officers, traffic management matters which should be considered.
