Investigation of Chemical Generation of Atomic Iodine for COIL and Testing of the Supersonic COIL Using Diode Probe Diagnostics

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking Institute of Physics Academy of Sciences as follows: The contractor will investigate the previously developed supersonic COIL driven by a jet singlet oxygen generator. Its operation will be explored using a tunable diode laser. They will also investigate the chemical generation of atomic iodine for a COIL using alternative chemical processes.
