Measurement and Evaluation of Artificial Dielectric Material

Abstract

This report describes measurements of dielectric parameters for artificial dielectric materials using picosecond time domain instrumentation. The time domain data is transformed to yield frequency dependent permittivity and loss factor. Artificial dielectric materials are of interest for lightweight dielectric lenses for ultra-wideband and wideband sources and antennas. Such lightweight antennas are useful for airborne and space applications.
