Gemeinsame Europaeische Sicherheit(Joint European Security))

Abstract

Six articles broach fundamental European security problems: the problem of NATO expansion; the search for security in the new (post-Cold War) Europe; German foreign and security policy with regard to Europe; the necessity of joint European foreign and security policy; Europe and the security interests of the United States; multi-nationalism and military integration in Europe. The authors tend to concur that the integration of the former Soviet Bloc countries would only serve to bolster European security, but the rate at which that precisely should occur remains a bone of contention.
