Adversarial Use of Weapons of Mass Destruction

Abstract

The media reported in August 1996 that Iran had developed a biological weapons arsenal. Moreover it was stated Israel had warned that these weapons of mass destruction (WMD) would be used against Western cities if the United States attempted to target Iran military for involvement in international terror- ism. This story reflected emerging apprehension over such threats. Recent events make it difficult to ignore the possibility that an adversary might resort to such weapons.
